The Plant Denver focus is to begin gathering partnership from individuals and churches to plant a local church in the South Denver suburb of Centennial. Partnership comes in various ways, but the most important partnership is the support of prayer. In order for any work of God to begin in South Denver, we need to garner those who embrace our vision and call and begin to pray for God to do a work. We have set a goal to gather 500 prayer partners who will faithfully pray for the work of God in South Denver. Those who would commit will receive a monthly prayer letter via email with specific prayer requests. This partnership is not a mere formality, but a vital extension of unity in the body of Christ as we pray for the expansion of the gospel. Click here to become a prayer partner.
The second aspect of partnership is cooperation. Between October 2009 and September 2010, we are trying to build a core planting group of 50 people. These people would be ones who embrace the need of church planting in South Denver and are committed to help see it through. In December, January, and February, we will being meeting once a month with anyone interested in church planting. Starting in March, we will begin meeting once a week as a group on Sunday evenings to build community, church planting vision, and theological purpose. Our goal will be to unite as a group in the hopes of launching our first public service in September 2010.
The third aspect of partnership is financial support. Although we would love for the church to begin as organically as possible, it will still take some financial efforts to get the seeds in the ground and begin sprouting. Although this is quite an undertaking financially, we are committed and on our way to Denver. We do not fear bi-vocational ministry, but know that the more time devoted to the church body will produce a stronger church. Not everyone can give, but we are asking those whom God directs to consider that it will take several thousand dollars for a family to be supported and live in Denver.
Our financial goal is to find 100 people who would commit to give $40 a month for the first year and decreasing intervals of $30, $20, $10 over the next four years.
